Reservation Dogs ends its third and last season with notable acclaim: four Emmy nominations. Those nominations include:
- Outstanding Comedy Series,
- Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai)
- Picture Editing for a Single-Camera Comedy Series
- Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series
The show has already received plenty of love across Indian Country.
It’s been credited for its significant strides toward Indigenous representation in the entertainment industry, as it was the first show to feature predominately Indigenous writers, directors, cast and crew members.
The first two seasons didn’t receive any nominations, even after the show received numerous awards from other institutions, such as Peabody, Gotham Film and Media Institute and The Writer’s Guild of America.
Director Sterlin Harjo (Seminole / Muscogee) and other Indigenous filmmakers and talent have taken to social media to express their celebration of the news.
